Dorset Sea food, and Big Cats!

Saturday saw Dorset Sea Food Festival cancelled, so ther was nothing for it but to cover a friend in duct tape, as one does!

You need a duct tape dummy, to make a well fitting fursuit, as worn by yours truly in this fun picture!

We must have so many pictures taken of us that we will never see - I hand out Artwey leaflets in return for our poses! I even got kissed, and there are always people who would like a hug!

And now you know why I altered those fine waders!

working with my body ...

my recently created duct-tape body is to help me make a suit that fits me! I use it to create one half of a pattern, then my costume will be perfectly symmetrical...



I have got my pins, some scissors, a marker pen and some old, partly faded curtains which will form the actual pattern ...



now I just need to take my time over it!

better get a head ....

big thanks to my hubby steve for letting me use his 23-inch head to make this little beauty ...

this strange shape is a pattern made by cutting fabric to fit and off my duct tape dummy ...the white parts have been removed for cutting out seperately of course, in both long and short white fur ....

the grey fur is made with dark underfur, the back of which is shown in this photo ...

i have dressed my duct tape man in inside out laura ashley curtains, lovingly recyled and the linings removed for another project ...

i have used pins and tape for fixing, and a marker pen to work out how to use the different furs to make markings ... like a stripe along the lower front of the arm ...

i need to add in little bits of fabric here and there where i snipped off a bit too much, easier to do this than get out fur and paper ... this is something i could not have done with measurments alone, and im so glad i have thew dummy ...

when i pick him up and carry him around it's reminisent of 'the doctor' and his assistant - when his assistant was little bonnie langford ! before i break him down, and recyle his innards i will take a pic of us both together ... daisy and matty call him MAN :-)

this isnt hubby, this is a duct-tape dummy sent to me by my client.
i came flat packed and rolled up and i spent ages filling it with an old duvet ... i will recycle the stuffing again later !

the head is seprate and i am using these to get the sizes right for the full suit and the head/mask ...

hes much taller than me, and the girls just call it MAN !
