Our own Topsy-cat is almost a grown up!

She is a fearless adventurer and rather camouflaged when hiding in next doors bushes...

Also slightly helpful when it comes to unthreading sewing machines ....

And of course, utterly photogenic! And because I draw a lot of Dogs these days, I also drew my cat, just to prove that kitties, even helpful ones, do not phase me!

Then I let her star in the postcard I has created this week, to show off my drawing! Would you like one?

Heads and tails ....

More barn owl making, as one will be on display at the library from the 24th of February ....

I love it when the recognisable parts start to appear ...

A Cheetah called Tyson

Here is the most exotic pet I have immortalised, to date ....

As I began to work on him I did feel overwhelmed by all those little spots!

Of course I love to build up colour, which I began to do once I had mapped out most of his markings...

I created the markings on the bandana by using oil pastel over chalky pastels which I had blended using my finger, working as usual in coloured pencil for Tyson's fur and his deep eyes!

I worked on him for some time, and so it was hard to let him go, and I let him watch over me for a couple of days before it was time to ship him off!

Upcycling a glass box for Love!

Time for a bit of collage fun, after spotting this sweet glass box in a charity shop. It was filled with potpourri and purple silk, but all I saw was potential despite the strong smell!

I cut some squares of thick card to fit each section - all different - then covered each piece with a page of a bible before getting busy with stickers, beads, threads and my neatest writing ...

The lid is secured with small pieces of creative memories tape and matching embroidery thread too!

Barn owl texture ....

Working on two new barn owls, one will be shown locally later this month with Artwey!

Feels like I have not embroidered for a long time, I am using my old bernette machine for this ....

And some hand stitches in silver thread ....
