Today we explored the street where the thousands, hundreds tens and units live ... While Matty was dressed as a Russian doll - we like Russian dolls!

when the units family gets to be one more than 9, then they have to move house! Matty really got the hang of that fast!

Then I finished my two new sofa cushions!

More Softness!

Making cushion covers with these lovely soft weaves!

One of my Sofas was in the house when we moved in, it was under a slip cover until last year, when i pulled it off and liked the textured stuff that was underneath! But it was a little worn in places ...

So tonight, I made these - but what are they called? I guess my lovely crochet lap blanket is posing as an antimacassar here! These arm are just wide enough for little bottoms to perch, allowing all four of us to look at the same book!

OOPS!

yesterday I forgot to blog, but today ... today mummy made pancakes!

Pancakes eagerly awaited, pancakes with amazing shapes! How I love a good non-stick pan!

And my excuse? too much on my plate yesterday, but i did manage a bit of whitewash!

and who's in the bedroom? A jumping, yapping puppy in need of repairs! as well as stripped for a re-vamp!

for Christmas I got some orange socks from innocent smoothies - but they were to big for me, so I made an orange dog for a plush team swap gift ... I have had to hide him until now!

I was pleased with him so I emailed his pictures to innocent smoothies ...

and they liked him so much, they shared one of his pictures, too!

recycling ...

Took my old sofa, and have been re-covering some of the cushions. This summer, during the watery part of the Olympics, welcoming Bedouin tents will be popping up all over Weymouth and Portland, and in them will be hand made cushions, and and rugs!

two new projects!

a home made cabinet i picked up free-cycling on Monday! I have removed the pegs (for cotton reels) and given it a sanding ...

a spice rack from jigsaws I collected on Saturday, I have filled on the holes, and washed in really well - it was greasy and grimy! I will also hang it with mirror plates ...

both items will also be painted!

Today I made a valentine's card ...

After I got the hang of a new-to-me sewing machine, I stitched a fun card!

Matty admired the stitches on the test fabric, and posed for my camera!

I have a mini tripod to use for low light shots, and Daisy wanted to be photographed too, she had to stop rocking in order to not be a smiling blur in the picture, and you can see the concentration. Rather Victorian don't you think?

Mary gazes up at me, and smiles her ever present gentle smile!

Today I (re)made - my bed!

And this is cute, really. I designed a patchwork duvet cover for a double sized duvet when I was 16, and then finally got around to making it when I was in my early 20s! It doesn't go on my bed much, as its quite 'warm' but now is a very good time for it!

After giving me and the girls a LUSH bath ...

Today I made a rather attractive pizza actually!

Once cooked, it was also fabulously fruity!

Today, I made blind chickens see!

Sushi platters!

We made sushi platters at pottery, and this is Matty's - the Potter's name is on it too!



Mary had great fun making hers, and adding all the different glazes, using a brush...



Daisy incorporated the edge design demonstrated by the potter!

Car seat recovering ...

Today I decided that Matty's old seat had the better clips and adjusters, even though the cover was in poor shape, thinning and with small tears!



I took it to pieces, put the straps in water to clean them and washed the seat frame of its grime and sand! Then flatten out the old cover by removing the elastic edge, and use it to make a pattern for a new seat! It looks much to big spread out like this!




and here we have Mary's soft new cover, complete with the 'seatbelt snugglies' she requested!

which I did not want to share with you today, and so here is a bit of a project which is getting closer and closer to being in my hands, as we speak!


It's my dear Crabby, in that lovely stash book we are all waiting for!

Car seats and a little thank you!

After some grunting and talking to myself today, the three seats in my car all match, and I have 2 9m+ car seats to release into the local community via freecycle! Matty and Daisy have moved up to back-and-booster seats and Mary is in Daisy's which I shared the recovering of on my blog, sometime ago!



And this little chicken is another thank you gift - quite fond of chickens these days!

Cold day!

It was a cold day today, with frozen bird-baths and chicken drinkers ...



but some of us still went outside to do fun things on our bikes that it says not to, in the instructions!



And some of us stayed inside, where it was much warmer ...



there were curved seems and there were ... even wibblier ones!



And then there was a rat named Agent, to go with toffee!
