Plush Team Virtual Book Tour: Day 7, with the Raggy Rat!

I am still really proud and excited to be part of this inspiring Plush-team publication...

This very special raggy rat, named Tia, found her way into my chosen photos, as she has unique markings. She is also one of a line of plush rats I began to make in 1996 ...

This is not our dinner on the dining table, where i also work, by the way! This is partly puppet, partly soft sculpture and also perhaps part pyjama case, and shows that i like to work both big and small ...

and sandy appears in the book, one of my favourite one-off pieces, with a lovely ratty face. I had fun dyeing the gingham and the mohair in tea, and fitting in those cheerful red wheels!

Do you have a copy of the Plush Team book?
Find out more at the Plushteam Etsy Shop...If you bring your copy to my open studio even I will sign it for you :-)

Hey Stitchy - Don't eat the book!

old shed, new shed ....

space at the top of the garden for a new shed ...

view from the wooden half of my odd, garage extension shed ...

one long shed, two doors, and an odd bit in the middle ...

this should be the guttering, for my garage ... who knew!

all levelled off now, with incinerator foundations dug out, and a tree stump chewed to bits ...

an early morning delivery from the granby ... and us still in our pyjamas!

Adam has made short work of turning the old shed into bricks again ...

old bricks - locally produced hardcore!

Ian telling me another rude story ...

the rough with the smooth, adding the top layer of concrete for the new shed base ...

stay tuned for more 'house work' in raggy rat land ...

Discovery.... art work ....

some time ago I painted this image from some photographs I took at my friends farm ...This is her sheepdog Jess, and a few of the sheep ...

We ate a lot of my friends eggs, and I decided to use the image to make an egg box lable ...the text was chosen because it reminded me of egg boxes in my childhood, just a feeling, a hint of memory!

I recently found the painting, and presented it to my friend over a lunchtime sandwich. The still have the farm, but no longer sell eggs.
