Monkey Around ...

This Christmas because they love me so much, Innocent the smoothie guys sent me a smashing pair of socks ... And they don't send them in my size (they once sent me fab orange socks) so i get my crafting on ...

And so on boxing Day was born a fabulous Sock Money, who looked very festive and fitted this Special Hat rather nicely ...

Instagrammed and Tweeted my new found friend but he does need a name, and perhaps a vocattion? Much love, Cat XXXX

Jingling Johnny again!

While the sun shone, mike made some recycled discs from bottle tops collected from a Weymouth Pub ...

Tap tap, gently round, until each bottle top is flat!

Cat made comfy, grippy handles by carefully gluing on braid. The end of the braid is secured with a small tack first ...

One instrument is covered in scripture, and varnished, and the other stained with ebony stain. They have brackets fitted below the handles, and check out the musical topping on the black jingling johnny!

They make a good noise already!

Both are ready here for the application of some chest-expander springs! The size difference might be to do with our size differences, but might also be to do with playing sitting or standing!

And dog bowls? what? This is looking crazy and fun! More later!

The miraculous adventures of edwards tulane!

Three little Edward Tulanes recently left my hands ... these are the scaled down, of 'half size - when i make full sized Edwards they can sit in my dining chairs with their ears above the table cloth, and listen to the chit chat of dinner!

they all grow a different character as I work with them ...

And often I am a little sad to see them go, but of course whisper good things in their furry ears and send them on their way!

I finished the button-joined rat!

I bought a lovely vintage throw from Bridport, which was made of two pieces of vintage mohair, and spoke to me with great potential!

this little rat is firmly stuffed and how button joined, and make from short sparse mohair ... I love adding the face features and the whiskers!

The tail is partially filled with tiny glass beads, so ratty can stand up too!

A dusty-pink ribbon and little key charm finish my new friend off! She is looking for a forever family ...

Crafting-life!

Sometimes, your crafting inspires others, and they join you in your creative space ... here is Mike getting rather sticky with some PVA and some really nice papers ...

While working on my dolls-house, I pulled out a selection that might improve Mike's magnolia Lampshade and it certainly got his creative juices flowing ...

I've crafted with Vicki before, and i enjoyed watching her work with these beautiful fabrics as I added eyes to cats and stuffed them ...

This is going to be a really beautiful cushion soon!

Have you picked up some crafts for those dark winter nights?

Happy Birthday Noncel!

Got together some bits and bobs today to make a special present for a friend ... The rope came from furniture packaging and the twig was found on a local walk.

Here it is, and i do hope she likes it - i now want to make another one right away! Maybe a whole stick full?

Do you remember me showing you this book that was coming out? Well, I will show you more of it tomorrow, but i was very much inspired by a design found in the book to make this gift ...

There's is much more colourful than mine of course ...

Do you like handmade gifts? Its my birthday tomorrow!

Seeing Faces ...

I love seeing a new creature come to life...
