Little Mary, who is almost 6, wished them well. Which shocks me as this blog is now been running over 6 years and began all that time ago with a fishy project :-) Have you ever made a Sock Monkey? I do love monkeys ....

Today I made food for a 'bring and share' lunch ...

But if Daisy keeps taking pictures like this, I will soon be out of a job ... or a blog? You can see more of me though ...



This is the girls third session with their birthday camera, and I'm pretty impressed. Of course there are the ones with the thumb over the lens, and the headless people, but photos like this one too, where the subject fills the frame beautifully!



And this is a lovely portrait of 6 year old Matty by her sweet twin :-)

A Round Up .....

A lovely piece of hemming and creative sewing by Daisy, and sent with my sister's handmade Birthday cards ...



We pulled up one of our potatoes-for-schools plants and washed the new potatoes ...



The Fuzzy girls climbed in the Bin when my friend James and his family came to visit! i should have been brave enough to take a pic of James playing my mandolin ... this is only a garden bin though, full of stones dug our from out borders by Steve ...



Daisy pleased with her new 6-inch embroidery hoop and some felt shapes ...



And our porch, all finished now, re pleat with petite wicker chair, is a lovely place to sit, and to play...

funny girls ...

i hate using the flash, and grabbed these shots of the girls making silly faces at daddy. i still think they are great pics, and the blurs make me laugh and seem to work, esp. when one girl is sitting still!

i have made daisy and matty some new hats, ready for all the spring rain! you can wear them either way, as i covered all the seams with vintage bias binding ...
matty is a bit grumpy
perhaps she knows the light isn't very good for photographs ...

rat's the way we like it ...

our rat, sweetie, has recently had surgery to remove a lump, and altho i at first thought it was growing back, it doesnt appear to be ...
here she is, sniffing daisy's little hand ...



mary is very confident around animals ...



matty is reaching out to be sniffed, you can see the fur on sweetie's left-hand-side growing back already ...

matty has drawn a lovely big 4by4, featuring a spare wheel on the back and some useful headlights for when it goes dark. there are also some wheels so the car can 'go' ...



daisy has created a 'ginormous' ant, he has eyes so he see where he is going and legs to make him walk ...

oh dear ... i had better get some 'work' done myself soon ...

diasy's most involved soft scuplture so far ...

she combined 2 squares of fabric with some sewn together offcuts from goats legs !
then added the butterfly for a face - i love the way she has stiched into all the dots on the butterfly ....



hands-up who still doesn't know how i get anything done?

funny how much the family element of my blog seems to be about insects ... hope they dont scare you away if you like coming to read about sewing and painting!
this beatle seen climbing the house wall just begged to be help by matty and daisy and is very impressive to boot!

three, aged three and under ....

hmm, that's a bit more of a mouthful, and a slightly bigger handful for crafty cat, of course ! well matty and daisy turned three ... we made some big badges and they wore them all day until bedtime ...


matty was grumpy most of the morning ... but matty-daisy did give each other a lovely hug and said happy birthday before breakfast!

i made them some 'MOGS' and they were delighted ...





we took the mogs to solomans house to meet with fellow HEers, and then went to the farm shop in martins town to see the animals and buy a cake for tea...

i DON'T like the snow ... so says MATTY!

yesterday, it snowed a bit ...

today, it snowed a bit more ... enough to keep us from trying to leave town and go to the drop-in choir ...
