Three faces of the season.

How cute is this little girl? She's carefully cleaning her paw. Or is she? Caption competition?

Sometimes I have to wait to after Christmas to share what I have been up to with some furry friends. Such is the case with these three lovelies.

So good to be asked to do a rat again. I will always love rats and value them as pets as well as subjects!

A girl Yorkie and a boy with the best nose ever are this years delightful dogs.

I can't wait for the new year to begin. It's going to be a good one. I think 2016 held a lot of challenges. How was it for you?

A Ratty Kind of Weekend ....

Made a black 'car rat' and a silver grey rat bag ...

Then Mary drew two very special rats ... she has never drawn a rat before! They are of our new girls, yes - a Rat owning family again!

Here is young Smudge, she is a Himalayan-hooded rat ...

And her sister Pepsi, a Hooded girl, and the alpha rat! Both named by my girls during a dinner discussion!

The purpose of a drawing ...

This kind of drawing I create in order to know, to carry away some information to work from, to sort out my ideas. It is done very rapidly, often with notes, and I really love its freshness! I will soon create 2 'car rats' based on these well-loved pets!

Splodge & Linus together ... random image!

Splodge & Linus together ...
Originally uploaded by RaggyRat

Splodge & Linus were rescued from a house in london where many, many rats were running feral, and i took them in via joan from the NFRS, and this pic is probably from 2001 ...

i haven't had any rats since these old boys, they really were the most charming rats, and got on with our ginea pig girl too, when they would meet under the sofa ...

the sofa in these pics turns up in my family photos a lot, mostly on flickr i have to admint, as i took it to bits, paited the wooden parts and re-covered it in terracotta sale fabric !

those where the days when i had the time and energy to re-vvamp a sofa !

sweetness and light ...

mary is wearing a bib handmade by TANTEHILDE (blog on left, there....)
and smiling sweetly at the aproach of mummy and something tasty!

i have to share this happy rhyme with you - my chewable raggy rats have gone down a treat up in derby ...

Dear Cathy,

In morning's sunshine they appeared
2 baby ratties, muchly cheered.
What shall I call them? Pit and Pat
of pattering feet, well fancy that!

Such snuggly beasts curled in a C
a perfect shape to grab must be
for baby's learning little fingies
such most appealing softie thingies,
also for slobbergums to chew
and stuffing down in nappy poo...
These ratties very much alive
wash-mashine-tumbles will survive.

Once clean and nicely disinfected
the awesome rat is resurrected
and fit for baby-hand caress
to pull its tail and make a mess ....

Now you can see where most of my time goes:
writing little rhymy-things to amuse my friends.

This poem is dedicated to the intrepid maker of sweet squeekies
and monster feet and other such things.

With my love and thanks,
