The Roy Dog, a Portland tail ....

Have you heard about The Roy Dog? If not I am sure you are about to have a bit of a Google! Legend tells of a black dog who lives in a cave ...

He has one eye that glows red and one that glows green, but I’ve omitted the eyes that dangle in his shaggy mane, those of his victims!
After all, this is a birthday gift for a young lass. She requested not to have all those!

Roy dog has a vintage nose, plundered from my sewing chest. It looks nice and glossy in the evening sun on Portland.

In Tout Quarry my plush version met the Portland stone version who’s been there for quite some time.

He’s now waiting for socially distanced collection, in my gallery.

I’ll miss him as he’s quite a character, much more than the real Roy-dog I suspect. I had fun deciding just how much of him to make shaggy to balance out that lovely mane, and I think he’s turned out quite well, with some needled sculpting of the face and paws. I’m looking forward to an unboxing, maybe on TikTok if I’m lucky!

Visual Arts Weymouth and Portland ...

There are lots of other things going on around Weymouth and Portland besides the Olympics ... I went on a Visual Arts Tour and became a citizen of nowhere-island! He we are at the wonderful embassy parked at Bowleaze cove!

On the harbour-side, visit the Collective Spirit, and enjoy a boat made from meaningful wooden objects with stories to tell...

On Portland, next to the coastwatch tower, there's the ExLab Project , where I was lucky enough to meet the artists in involved, too! I will be doing some stewarding here over the next few weeks.

And the coastwatch guys let us in a few at a time, to see what they do and enjoy a stunning view of the lighthouse, and the race!

Save Fancy's Farm ...

A fun event takes place on portland this weekend to raise money for a fab community project, that's has the peoples' involvement from the start ...

I have created some pictures of some of the residents at the farm, working from some photos taken by Soozy and Jon, and these are going to be auctioned off to help raise funds to keep this community project going ...

Pippy the goose knows all about territory ... if you want to know more about what's going on, a bit of googling should help, and there is also a facebook page where you can add your voice and start the bidding on my art work ...

Save Fancy's Farm facebook page!

Portland sheep live here, a very rare breed - with lots of character, as you can see!

And it will soon be lambing time again ...
