Susie, The Dorchester Cat

Susie the Dorchester Cat is still enjoying life owning all the shops in town. Her Facebook group has grown and she has sold many postcards in support of Feral Cat Care here in Dorset. The image above is drawn from a gorgeous photo shared in the group, and thanks to a local cafe you can now have this printed on a mug. There’s even more merch available and more to come as well as a really nice cup of coffee while you are there.

Get in touch with the cafe to order your Susie Merch. And get excited. There will soon be something amazing on that shelf!

The one where The Raggy Rat became Queen!!!

So there she stood, creatively dressed as a busy, creative Mum-of-four...

Why are you wearing that?, says Carl from Wessex FM. All that's missing is a chicken under my arm!

For evening dress I eventual decided against pyjamas. I bought a very simple swingy dress and took it in a little, to fit. Ever practical!

There was entertainment and the Pavilion was so beautifully done up. Like a wedding!

Judges scribbled their choices without conferring. Excitement was building!

And I was happy to win Miss Charity! Esp since we get to support Julia's House!

This is me utterly shocked ... I actually won Miss Carnival Queen 2015!!! And even better I'm listening to some amazing cheers from a certain table!!

Didn't we do well? I'll see you at the carnival!

Thanks to Frances Underwood Photography for letting me share these pics with you XXX

Have a Heart!

No one loves you like your teddy ... so for the current 'plush team' challenge, I made this sweet little bear who wears his heart like a button joint, two little red bells and a sweet ribbon ...

i also used a lovely vintage woven-backed faux fur, in a warm soft shade ...bear is fully jointed and about 25cm tall ...

the eyes are glass and the button is hand made ceramic

"Plush Team Has Heart" is a fundraiser to benefit the International Children's Heart Foundation, an organization that works to bring aid to children in developing countries with congenital heart conditions. 100% of these sales will be donated to the ICHF.

Thanks to all the Plushteam members who are participating in this charity, we hope for it to be a huge success. All of the other items can be found at http://plushteam.etsy.com.

squark ! a new puppet commission ....

yippeee i got the job pf making a parrot puppet for a cumbrian performance company, just thru word of mouth which is famtastic ... i have done some sketches and lots of fun research, and i hope to begin this week and get it done before 24th feb, as their deadline is 1st march ...
i also need to make a special raggyrat holding one of these camera cases ....
and containing one of these ... and talking of cameras, i forgot mine on friday when me and the fuzzy twins went to see seb green leaving on his round britain walk. We met flash, who i felt i knew really well after spending so long drawing him, but his barking made daisy cry. Matty eyed up the paramedic who was on hand, and i said hello to seb himself, who said he found my blog while 'googling' which was funny, i didnt even think of him finding me himself! i managed to wish seb good luck and shake his hand before it was time to go ...

WIP - stage 1 of the drawing of flash the border collie ....

here is the ground work of my drawing of flash, all framed out in black as i like to do it, altho i sometimes use dark sepia in this manner ... uploaded for information, and something the organisers of sebs support can see at a meeting tonight...

here is the updated web page, i will post again to update the links, and i do believe sebs coastal walk will have a blog too...

http://www.sebsodyssey.org.uk/

and here is some information to be found on one of the charity websites giving more of seb's story and an oppotunity to donate ...

it is lovely to get some drawing done again, i have even been able to do a bit while sitting with daisy and matty and they didnt poke or smudge it!

as i type, my kitchen is filled with noise and a new ceiling is going up, but it sounds like my girls are managing to nap thru it ....

doing some drawing ....

seb leaves on friday next week, and i hope its a day like today so he can have a good send off from the oasis cafe, on the beach ... also on that day my new kitchen will be nearing completion, i cant wait for that even tho i am not looking forward to the upheaval ...

in between sewing, tidying up and clearing out, and looking after my girls i have sat down with some faber castell pencils and started drawing seb's dog flash, which i hope will be able to raise a small sum for support fund for this young man and hound ... i will post a pic when the drawing at least has a head, i seem to have worked from the bottom up this time, not having done any art work on paper for ages !

i would like to have flash finnished by monday so mary harper can take a copy to monday nights meeting and get some ideas about publicising it :-) she has one idea of a shop in dorchester displaying the work and i thought of dear dennis of the sausage factory !

seb green ... an amazing young man ...

it's not often in life that some one will REALLY try to make amends for something they have done, but this local lad is about to attempt that, providing both monies to charity and an awareness to other youngsters about the consequences of their behaviour ....

here is the temporary web page, i will post again to update the links, and i do believe sebs coastal walk will have a blog too...

http://www.sebsodyssey.org.uk/

and here is some information to be found on one of the charity websites giving more of sebs story and an oppotunity to donate ...

and my interest? steve and i have got involved with raising support for seb himself, and faithful dog flash, and if you want to get involved too, drop me a line or leave a comment ... if you live in a coastal place you might see seb and i hope he gets lots of good publicity and has the stamina needed for this undertaking ...
