and then there were eggs!

we have settled into a nice routine here and chez raggy-rat ...

I get the chickens up before the girls, and then later on we look for eggs and share out veg and dinner scraps ...

and after a week and a half with us, the first egg appeared, just after Steve's birthday!

and the Orpingtons have really got used to us, in fact all the girls seem really happy around us now ...

and in the afternoon, we go in and throw a few handfuls of corn ...

one of the black-tails had a very pecked neck when she arrived, it is almost filled back in now, she looks great!

one hen likes cuddles ...

the girls have inspired some nice drawings, matty did this chicken and egg ...

and daisy drew this image, showing me and matty collecting eggs, and a nice tub of grit on a log, too!

Actually, with my red henna'd hair, I look a lot like a chicken!

horse riding, again!

trotting makes matty laugh!

it's all good fun!

daisy gives me a grin before she heads off!

Daisy thinks trotting is funny too ...

and little mary has a little ride ...

Raggy rat-bag shoulder bags!

these guys looks like big car rats, with straps ...

floppy car rats, with bellies hungry for phones, keys and wallets!

a new shoulder-rat design ...

these would look good in pink ...

flashback ... me and a hairy ginger pirate!

long before my blogging life I was involved in making a pilot for a Devon-based company. I made the puppets and, as i boasted about my puppet wielding prowess, I was involved in filming not one but two pilots ...

Evil or naughty characters are always fun to do, and this pirate was no exception!

One day I sat doodling with the girls ...

I would like to sew another barn owl soon, along with an idea I have for a goat doll, and maybe another Edward...
